The 2021 MLS All-Star Game is coming to Los Angeles on Aug. 25, when they will face a Liga MX All-Star team for the first time. And now, it’s time to help pick the MLS All-Star Team.
The league unveiled a new process this week for selecting the all-stars:
- 12 players will be picked via a vote by fans, media and players. Each of those respective blocs will get 1⁄3 of the total vote weighted for that group.
- MLS All-Star Team head coach Bob Bradley will select an additional 12 players
- MLS Commissioner Don Garber will make two more selections
One of the new wrinkles in picking the All-Star Team this year is that those who vote will make selections for seven distinct positions: goalkeeper, right back, center back, left back, defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder, and forward/winger.
