LOS ANGELES – A defender won the preseason’s most grueling fitness exam on Monday: the dreaded beep test.
Defender Tomas Hilliard-Arce won the beep test on the opening day of training under the supervision of Head Strength and Conditioning coach Adam Waterson and fitness coach Javier Valdecantos.
The training exercise requires players to run back and forth between two boundaries within the sound of automated beeps which increase in succession as the exercise continues. Participants can only miss a boundary once before being removed from the examination.
