During the 2002 World Cup, one of my favorite memories was when a young Robbie Keane beat the unbeatable Oliver Kahn in the second minute of stoppage time to earn Ireland a vital draw vs. Germany.
“Look at these scenes! Just look at these scenes!”
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Wednesday, Robbie Keane announced his retirement from international football and the Republic of Ireland following next’s week friendly vs. Oman at Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
The 36 year old ends a 18-year international career with a record 145 senior appearances and is Ireland’s all-time leading scorer with 67 goals.
