Your San Diego Wave FC are the newest team to join the NWSL. The San Diego franchise announced their official name early this morning, via pre-recorded message from team President, Jill Ellis, accompanied by video. While the reveal came at 6 am PT, the brief live topped out at close to 500 viewers, showing just how excited many are to get any news on the NWSL’s newest franchise. The team also revealed that its inaugural season will be played at Torero Stadium, the current home of USL side, San Diego Loyal. The Waves FC will look for a more permanent home, but for now, have secured a place to play in 2022.
