The LA Galaxy and legalized gambling? It could be a thing sooner than you think.
Sports Business Journal reported this morning that the league has agreed to a four-year deal with MGM Resorts International. The betting corporation with ties to the NBA, NHL and MLB have plans this season including developing a free game for the fans.
The player’s union have released the following statement:
MLS’ sponsorship agreement with MGM and sports betting in general will generate additional revenues. At the same time, sports betting presents significant, attendant challenges for players that need to be addressed by MLS and state and federal legislatures.
