It’s midnight in Southern California. Tuesday, July 9th is upon us and the MLS secondary transfer window of the 2019 season is now open. Running until August 7th, the window affords teams the ability to sign new players. As the league website explains, “Per FIFA regulations, MLS teams are able to request International Transfer Certificates (ITC) from players’ former clubs to complete signings, loans and transfer deals”.
A few deals have already been completed, with Columbus acquiring a young Costa Rican DP and Curacao goalkeeper Eloy Room, Carlos Fierro joining San Jose and Atlanta securing Emerson Hyndman from the Premier League.
