Mexico out powered by Germany 4-1 in Confederations Cup semifinal

The 2017 Confederations Cup ended in disappointment for El Tri, as Juan Carlos Osorio’s men were soundly defeated by a German B team 4-1 Thursday night in Sochi.

Giovani dos Santos got the start in the center of the pitch as an attacking midfielder, but before the LA Galaxy Designated Player could make an impact on the game, Germany had already scored twice. In just the 6th minute, Die Mannschaft surged ahead on a lighting quick counter-attack and Benjamin Henrichs found Leon Goretzka on the top of the box, who used precision to drive a powerful shot around Guillermo Ochoa into the bottom left corner of the net.
