The U.S. Women’s National Team won their second consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy and their fourth title overall with a 2-0 victory over the Netherlands in Lyon on Sunday.
Megan Rapinoe scored from the penalty spot to give the Americans the opener before a stunning finish from Rose Lavelle sealed the win over the European Champions. Rapinoe’s goal helped the California native win the Golden Boot and the Golden Ball as the tournament’s top player.
The Americans will be honored with a ticker tape parade in New York City next week.
