Match Report: The 2017 season ends with a 2-1 loss in Salt Lake City

LA Galaxy II (8-19-5, 29 points) fell 2-1 in their final game of the 2017 USL Regular Season on Saturday night against Real Monarchs SLC (20-5-7, 67 points) at Rio Tinto Stadium in Salt Lake City.

LA fell behind early, conceding off a corner in the 6th minute when Real Monarchs SLC’s Emilio Orozco beat Jean Engola for the game’s first goal. The hole got a little bigger when Sebastian Velasquez fired a shot on goal that deflected off Ryo Fujii before going into the back of the net.

After a few breakaway chances and one-on-ones with SLC’s goalkeeper, Adrian Vera was able to convert on his chance, pulling Galaxy II one back in the 42nd minute, just before the close of the half that ended 2-1.
