The Los Angeles City Council approved Los Angeles Football Club’s plans to build a $250 million stadium in Exposition Park on Friday.
All 12 members of the city council voted unanimously to continue their plans to build the 22,000-capacity stadium on the site of the Sports Arena near the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the University of Southern California. The Sports Arena is scheduled to be to be demolished in June.
“We are excited to bring innovation and creativity to LA and deliver on our commitment to bring a state-of-the-heart experience to the community,” Peter Guber, LAFC Executive Chairman and Owner said in a statement.
