CARSON, Calif. – Robbie Rogers will be unable to suit up for tonight’s LA Galaxy Pride Night due to ankle surgery, but a year ago, he enjoyed one of the proudest moments of his career.
Rogers scored the first goal of his LA Galaxy career in the team’s 5-0 victory over the Portland Timbers on the club’s second annual Pride Night. With friends and family in the stands, Rogers was visibly emotional during the postgame media availability.
“I didn’t think I was going to be so emotional, and I didn’t think it was going to have the impact that it did have on me, so it was a great way to cap off tonight,” Rogers said a year ago.
