Leonardo selected in 2016 MLS Re-Entry Draft

The last remaining Brazilian is no longer with the Galaxy.

Defender Leonardo da Silva, one of a trio of Brazilians who thrived in LA alongside his Sao Paulo teammate Juninho and Alajuelense midfielder Marcelo Sarvas, has been selected by the Houston Dynamo with the first selection of the 2016 MLS Re-Entry draft stage 2.

Leonardo has spent the last seven years at the club, tallying 85 career regular-season appearances and winning three MLS Cups. The 28-year old center back was solid last year after replacing the departed Omar Gonzalez, even winning the Galaxy 2015 Defender of the Year Award.
