LA Galaxy trade top allocation spot to Portland Timbers

It’s been crickets for LA so far this summer transfer window. Sigi Schmid’s squad are in need of defensive reinforcements, but publicly and privately its been acknowledged the Galaxy lack the funds to go after someone without moving a piece.

That reality may have just changed. MLSsoccer.com writer Sam Stejskal recently confirmed the LA Galaxy have traded their No. 1 spot in the allocation order to the Portland Timbers, who plan on signing Santos Laguna left back and ex-Timber Jorge Villafaña.

Can now confirm. He's headed to Portland.
