CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy selected Servando Carrasco with the first overall selection in Thursday’s Stage 2 of the MLS Re-Entry Draft.
Carrasco spent the last two-and-a-half seasons with Orlando City SC where he made 58 appearances and tallied one goal for the Lions. Prior to his stint in Florida, the University of California, Berkeley alum made stops at Sporting Kansas City, Houston Dynamo and played three seasons with current Galaxy head coach Sigi Schmid with Seattle Sounders FC.
Los Angeles will now have the opportunity to negotiate a new contract with Carrasco. The Southern California native was one of only two players selected in Stage 2 with Gonzalo Veron being drafted by DC United.
