The LA Galaxy selected goalkeeper Matt Lampson in the 2nd Stage of the MLS Re-Entry Draft today. Lampson, 29, spent the 2018 season with Minnesota United FC.
A seven-year MLS veteran, Lampson is a former Columbus Crew SC homegrown. Making his debut for Crew SC in 2012, Lampson spent four years in Columbus before two years with the Chicago Fire in 2016 and 2017. Lampson started a career high 24 games for the Fire in 2017, while recording eight shutouts. He was traded to Minnesota United FC ahead of the 2018 season as part of an MLS SuperDraft trade, starting nine games for the Loons in that campaign.
