LA Galaxy routed by Real Salt Lake 6-2

It was absolutely paramount before Saturday’s match vs. Real Salt Lake that the LA Galaxy earn a positive result.

Sigi Schmid put out a second-string lineup with many of LA’s attacking weapons on the bench, and despite a shock opening goal from Jonathan dos Santos in the 1st minute LA never stood a chance. allowing RSL to score six goals in a rout that dampers the Galaxy’s 2018 MLS Cup playoff hopes.

Mike Petke’s RSL had just lost once all year at Rio Tinto, so it was always going to be a challenge for the Galaxy to compete.
