Ireland’s all-time leading scorer, Robbie Keane, seemed to be back into form in the team’s opening group stage match against Sweden in Euro 2016. The LA Galaxy forward was used a substitute in the 78th minute. This was his first competitive match in over two weeks.
He had been sidelined with a calf injury and was forced to miss a few MLS games with his club. He also missed two international friendlies that led up to the Euros. It is good to see Keane back on the pitch for his country.
Robbie returned to full training earlier this week and declared himself “ready and available” for the Republic of Ireland’s match against Sweden.
