The LA Galaxy announced Friday they have parted ways with defender Diedie Traore, by mutual agreement.
The player’s contract was cancelled ahead of the 2021 season, despite the Galaxy picking up his contract option at the end of last season. However, there had been reports that Traore was bound for a loan this season, and for whatever reason, that did not happen and the team and player decided to move on entirely.
The 22-year-old joined the Galaxy organization in 2018, originally signing with LA Galaxy II before signing a first team deal in 2019 and splitting time between MLS and the USL Championship that year.
