Given a start up top by Curt Onalfo, the 22-year-old Homegrown delivered, bagging a stylish brace as the Galaxy steamrolled the Rapids Wednesday night in Colorado.
After a few close calls for Colorado, McBean took advantage of a poor clearance by Axel Sjoberg to expertly kiss a side-footed finish off Tim Howard’s right goalpost and into the net in just the 5th minute.
As you might expect, LA took the pedal off the gas, and predictably Dillon Serna would equalize for the Rapids before the half.
Despite the altitude as well as Romain Alessandrini sitting on the bench, the Galaxy looked comfortable in the second half, putting pressure on Colorado’s defense.
