LA Galaxy on wrong end of 5-3 shootout vs. Toronto FC

The LA Galaxy and Toronto FC exchanged horrific halves that highlighted both team’s defensive issues, but it would be the Reds who came out on top 5-3 Saturday night at BMO Field, reducing LA’s already slim chances of making a late push for the MLS Cup playoffs.

With Dominic Kinnear running the club on an interim basis, you would expect the team to come out guns blazing, but it was TFC who led by a pair of goals just 20 minutes in. First Victor Vasquez got on the wrong side of Rolf Feltscher to easily nod a cross from fullback Gregory van der Wiel past David Bingham before TFC took advantage of a sloppy clearance as Jozy Altidore clinically beat Bingham again with a low blast.
