Earlier this morning a tweet of LA Galaxy midfielder Joáo Pedro made the rounds on social media, with Athens news agency AMNA reporting the 25-year old had signed with local side Apollom Smyrni of the Greek Superleague.
LA Times reporter Kevin Baxter recently confirmed the news, noting Pedro is on loan and still a member of the Galaxy.
In 2017 the organization shelled out $1.5 million for Pedro with the hope of securing a long-term No. 8, but after a less than stellar season the likable Portuguese midfielder was deemed surplus to requirements. The former Vitoria product has just 85 first-team minutes in three appearances this year, mostly playing with Los Dos.
