LA Galaxy launch Girls’ Academy program

The LA Galaxy like to be first. Not just on the pitch, but in all aspects of the beautiful game.

And over the course of two decades, the Galaxy have long been the originators of American soccer: The Galaxy were the first MLS club to build a modern, fully-functioning soccer stadium complete with luxury suites and training fields, the first club to sign a lucrative shirt sponsorship deal, the first team to sign a Designated Player, and most importantly, the first club to win five MLS Cups.

Today the Galaxy continue to build on this legacy, as President Chris Klein announced this afternoon the introduction of fully-funded Girls’ Academy Teams, a first in Major League Soccer.
