We saw this coming about a month ago, but today the LA Galaxy made it official: Defender Robbie Rogers, who had yet to play a minute this year, was put on the Season Ending Injury (SEI) list, effectively prematurely ending his 2017 season.
The move will provide some cap relief for LA. How much exactly? Rogers was set to earn a base salary of 225,000 and the season is basically 25% complete. We also know the paperwork was filed around the time the rumor was first reported. Whatever the specific amount, its likely the Galaxy will have a decent chunk of change to work with.
