LA Galaxy defender Pele Van Anholt has undergone successful anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament repair to his right knee at the Kerlan Jobe Institute at Cedars Sinai in Santa Monica, the club announced today.
Van Anholt is expected to miss six to nine months. Following the surgery, the Galaxy have placed Van Anholt on the Season-ending Injury list.
The defender joined the Galaxy this July and went on to make five appearances, all starts, during the MLS season, recording 357 minutes on the field. The 26-year-old right back joined the Galaxy after featuring for Willem II in the Eredivisie in the Netherlands.
