And just like that, Giovani dos Santos is no longer a LA Galaxy player.
The LA Times’ Kevin Baxter is now reporting that the club and player have agreed to part ways after a four-year relationship that began with significant promise but will ultimately go down as an ambitious failure. Dos Santos rarely featured this preseason and did not train much if at all.

In technical terms, the Galaxy’s separation with Dos Santos, 39, came through the team exercising an offseason buyout, meaning his 2019 salary will not count against the team’s salary cap and the team is now in roster compliance for Saturday’s regular-season opener with the Chicago Fire.
