Mexico earned a historic victory on Sunday with a 1-0 victory over reigning World Cup champions Germany in Moscow.
Hirving Lozano scored the game-winner in the 35th minute and goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa made nine saves to give El Tri the win over Germany in an impressive defensive performance for Juan Carlos Osorio’s squad.
Content to counterattack against the possession-oriented Germans, Mexico broke through just before halftime when Lozano fired a shot past German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. After the goal, the Germans controlled the match, but could not break through Ochoa who held the World Cup champs at bay.
