Gyasi Zardes is on U.S. Soccer’s 40-man preliminary roster for the 2016 Copa America Centenario, U.S. Soccer announced on Sunday.
The Hawthorne product has been a staple in Jurgen Klinsmann’s squad since last season and is expected to be on the 23-man roster when it is announced ahead of this summer’s tournament. Zardes is the Galaxy’s current leading goal scorer with four goals in 2016 as well as one assist.
