A familiar face and a twin brother have joined the technical staff. This afternoon the LA Galaxy announced Guillermo Barros Schelotto has hired three of his former staff at Boca Juniors to join him in Los Angeles: Assistants Gustavo Barros Schelotto, Ariel Pereyra and fitness trainer Javier Valdecantos. Dominic Kinnear has also retained his role as an assistant coach.
A bit of background on the new additions: Gustavo Barros Schelotto has worked alongside his brother as a top assistant during spells at Boca Juniors and Lanus after concluding a successful career in Argentine football. Replacing the overzealous Pierre Barrieu, Javier Valdecantos is a wily veteran physical trainer with experience across South America, while Pereyra is another Argentine who coached under GBS at Boca and Lanus after sharing the field with Guile at Gimnasia.
