CARSON, Calif. – Giovani dos Santos wrapped up the Confederations Cup, and the LA Galaxy’s Mexican star is in line for a brief respite before he returns to fold for head coach Curt Onalfo’s squad.
The 28-year-old Mexican international made three appearances during Mexico’s fourth-place finish in Russia, while also starting in El Tri’s World Cup qualifier against Honduras last month. After a month away from the team, dos Santos will receive a break as he decompresses from a taxing Confederations Cup tournament.
“He’s been gone for 38 days with the national team,” Onalfo who ruled dos Santos out for Tuesday's game said.
