CARSON, Calif. – Two of U.S. Soccer’s most cherished icons will face off on Sunday when the LA Galaxy take on the Colorado Rapids in the Western Conference Semifinal second leg.
Landon Donovan and Tim Howard forged their legacies as teammates with the U.S. National Team and English side Everton, but they’ll lineup as adversaries for just the fourth time in their storied careers on Sunday.
The two players appeared in 68 games together with the U.S. National Team, playing in two FIFA World Cups together in 2006 and 2010. Donovan also played alongside Howard a total of 20 times during his two stints with Everton during the 2010-11 and 2012-13 campaigns.
