Efrain Alvarez called up to Mexico U-17 squad

More good news for Efrain Alvarez.

The LA Galaxy academy product has been named by Marco Antonio Ruiz to join the Mexico National Team U-17 setup ahead of the CONCACAF Championship, the tournament that decides which teams from the region will participate in the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.

As you may know, Alvarez is a dual-national eligible to play for the U.S. and Mexico. The Los Angeles native has impressed with El Tri and drew rave reviews earlier this season in two brief appearances off the bench, taking over the season opener in a come-from-behind win over the Chicago Fire and turning heads with a sublime nutmeg on FC DallasMatt Hedges the following match.
