After marking his MLS debut with a goal, the San Fernando Valley native received a certificate of recognition from Los Angeles Assemblyman Mike Gatto.
Staff from Gatto’s office met Steres after training to present him with the certificate.
“Daniel is a proud San Fernando Valley native and his success is a phenomenal example to aspiring athletes in Southern California,” Gatto said. “I look forward to seeing his continued success both on and off the field.”
Daniel Steres was born in Burbank, California, and attended Calabasas High School. A three-time Jewish Community Center (JCC) Macabi Championship Team member, he earned a scholarship to San Diego State University, where he played all four years and went on to earn All-Pac-12 honors.
