Zack Greinke consistently great for LA Dodgers

Friday was A.J. Ellis’ night at the Improv.

It was his turn to work with Zack Greinke. Although Greinke doesn’t exactly make it up as he goes along, he knows plans are made to be broken, depending on the situation.

Pitches that don’t work are filed away in favor of pitches that do. It helps that Greinke has more working pitches than most pitchers.

“That’s the difference between catching Zack and Clayton (Kershaw),” Ellis said, after Greinke won his 18th game and the Dodgers took care of the Pirates, 6-2.

“Clayton has a plan and is pretty much going to follow it.
