Zach Lee believes trade to Mariners will be good for him

LOS ANGELES >> The writing was probably on the wall the moment Andrew Friedman took over as the Dodgers’ president of baseball operations.

But it was most obvious last season when the Dodgers used a major-league 16 starting pitchers and 13 got the call before Zach Lee. The former first-round pick who received a franchise-record $5.25 million bonus in 2010 didn’t get the call this year either as four starting pitchers made their way to the Dodgers’ DL (Brett Anderson, Alex Wood, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Brandon McCarthy) and two rookies spent significant time in the big-league rotation (Ross Stripling and Julio Urias).
