The young left-hander obtained as part of the Dodgers’ trade-deadline maneuvering began rebuilding the case for those deals, pitching into the seventh inning as the Dodgers bounced back with a 5-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday night.
“For me, it gives me some confidence to get the first win under my belt for these guys,” Wood said. “I felt tonight overall was probably the best I’ve thrown of the three (starts for the Dodgers).
“For me that’s all I look for.
