Turner entered Saturday hitting .329 this season with seven home runs and 28 RBIs. He was productive Friday night against the Giants, going 3-for-3 with a home run and two doubles. In his last 10 games before Saturday, Turner was hitting .448 with six extra-base hits, and he added a solo homer in the first inning of Saturday's game to tie the score, 2-2.
Though Turner is the starting third baseman for now, red-hot Cuban infielder Hector Olivera is in Triple-A and the Dodgers will have decisions to make on playing time. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly usually has limited Turner to four or five games per week, in order to give Turner's knees a rest, but who will receive the majority of at-bats on a daily basis when Olivera is called up remains unclear.
