Mexico took down Canada in Wednesday’s win-and-in World Baseball Classic game, and will now be getting set for their matchup in the quarterfinals. After starting the first game for Mexico on Saturday, Julio Urias is set to get the ball again in the quarterfinals.
The pitch count in the group stages of the WBC for pitchers was 65 pitches, but in the quarterfinal round, it goes up to 80. While Mexico (and I’m sure Urias) would love to get all 80 of those pitches out of the superstar left-hander, the Dodgers will reportedly have a say in that pitch count.
