Several intriguing pitchers took the mound Monday when the Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds met at Goodyear Ballpark, but with respect to David Price, Julio Urias and Sonny Gray, Trevor Bauer was both the most entertaining and successful.
After Gray allowed one run on three hits and two walks over 2.2 innings and Brooks Raley recorded the final out the third, Bauer entered for his second Cactus League game of the year. Aside from it coming in the form of a relief appearance, it was different in that Bauer tipped his hand.
With Matt Beaty leading off, Bauer motioned his glove to signal what pitch was coming.
