LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers bench coach Tim Wallach will join new Marlins manager Don Mattingly in Miami if he doesn't get the Dodgers manager job.
Wallach confirmed what Mattingly revealed in his introductory press conference on Monday. Wallach is considered one of the Dodgers' in-house candidates to replace Mattingly -- along with farm director Gabe Kapler and Ron Roenicke -- but has not yet interviewed.
Rick Honeycutt, Mattingly's pitching coach in Los Angeles, is negotiating a multiyear deal to remain in that role with the Dodgers even before a new manager is announced.
