Vin Scully to Have Street Leading to Dodgers Stadium Named for Him

Legendary Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully is getting honored with a street bearing his name that leads to Dodger Stadium.

According to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com, the Los Angeles City Council unanimously approved the moniker "Vin Scully Avenue" to be used in place of Elysian Park Avenue on Friday.

According to Doug Padilla of ESPN.com, the proposed name change was brought up by Los Angeles City Councilman Gil Cedillo.

The report also noted that the Dodgers had multiple representatives, including manager Dave Roberts, former manager Tommy Lasorda, players such as Clayton Kershaw and Yasiel Puig and former players such as Orel Hershiser, Ron Cey, Steve Garvey, Eric Karros and Maury Wills at City Hall in a team caravan as the motion was taking place.
