Over his amazing career as the Dodgers broadcaster, Vin Scully has amassed a vast number of awards and accomplishments. However, he was quoted saying, "I am overwhelmed" in response to learning Elysian Park Avenue would soon be renamed Vin Scully Avenue.
When we think of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Vin Scully is THE constant. I have an old LP titled 'Dodgers '59: The season's most thrilling moments as reported on KMPC by Vin Scully.' In it are snips of key games during the World Series Championship Season of 1959. Also among the credits of this album is the comment: 'Vin Scully is one of America's top sportscaster who has been the voice of the Dodgers for the past ten years'.
