LOS ANGELES — Dodgers Hall of Famer Tommy Lasorda underwent surgery Thursday to replace the pacemaker in his heart.
The procedure was confirmed by the Dodgers on Friday morning. The team added in a release that Lasorda is “doing well and looking forward to returning to Dodger Stadium.”
The 89-year-old Lasorda has been hospitalized for more than two weeks and has a history of heart problems. He was hospitalized following a heart attack in 2012 and received his first pacemaker at that time.
Lasorda has been hospitalized multiple times in the past year, including after a fall while attending a memorabilia show in Atlantic City in August and then again for 10 days with multiple issues in October.
