Time Warner-Comcast merger dead, Dodgers fans still wait

For several months, we've been told the main holdup in the Dodgers' television network SportsNet LA finding carriage deals were the pending mergers of media giants. But though one of those deals fell through on Thursday, it doesn't appear to mean any end to waiting to watch Dodgers baseball on TV in Los Angeles is coming.

Comcast is planning to abandon its $45 billion merger with Time Warner Cable, per reports on Thursday in the New York Times and Bloomberg News. While the Associated Press reported that the $48.5 million merger between DirecTV and AT&T is still expected to happen, the main concern as it relates to the Dodgers is the Time Warner deal, since they are a partner in SportsNet LA.
