MONTERREY, Mexico -- After scoring a fortuitous run in the first inning, the Dodgers flexed their muscles in the second inning of the Mexico Series opener, as Chris Taylor and Enrique Hernandez slugged back-to-back home runs off Padres rookie starter Joey Lucchesi.
With two outs in the inning, Taylor launched an 0-2 pitch into the center-field seats for his fifth home run of the season. Taylor is starting at shortstop now that Corey Seager is out for the season with Tommy John surgery.
Hernandez followed by working the count to 3-2 against Lucchesi before pulling one into the Dodgers bullpen in left field.
