A pair of former Dodgers are up for Hall of Fame consideration, with first baseman Steve Garvey and pitcher Tommy John on the Modern Baseball Era ballot to be decided at the winter meetings in December.
Garvey and John are two of 10 names on the ballot for what is the revamped veterans committee, with different eras rotating each year. The Modern Era covers those whose primary contributions came from 1970-87.
Others on Modern Baseball Era ballot this year are Don Mattingly, Marvin Miller, Jack Morris, Dale Murphy, Dave Parker, Ted Simmons, Luis Tiant and Alan Trammell.
