LOS ANGELES – When Justin Turner went in for an MRI on his left knee following the end of the Dodgers’ postseason run last fall, he looked forward to the relief an expected surgery would bring.
But then the Dodgers’ team physician, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, mentioned something that gave Turner pause – microfracture surgery.
“It was scary when I first heard it,” Turner said recently. “I knew nothing about microfracture surgery other than Matt Kemp had a hard time coming back from it. But his was in a bad spot to have it.
