Shohei Ohtani accomplished more in his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers than he did in parts of six seasons with the Los Angeles Angels.
Ohtani founded the 50/50 club when he stole his 50th base and launched his 50th home run and was a unanimous pick for the National League Most Valuable Player as a designated hitter. Oh yeah, he also won the World Series in his first trip to the postseason.
It was during the champagne-soaked celebration in the visitor’s clubhouse at Yankee Stadium when Dodgers president Stan Kasten realized just how important Ohtani is to the organization thanks to a three-word message.
