SAN DIEGO -- The Dodgers showed their best on Monday, with ace Clayton Kershaw combining with a resurgent offense to post the most lopsided opening day shutout in major league history. Now, they turn to the other guys in the rotation, testing - or showcasing, if you prefer, their depth, beginning with Scott Kazmir.
Last year, the Dodgers got 65 starts of ace-level pitching out of Kershaw and the now-departed Zack Greinke, and the other 97 starts produced a 4.41 ERA in 5.39 innings per start, and the Dodgers were 49-48 in those games.
