The past couple of weeks have been nothing short of grueling for Major League Baseball. Team owners and the Players Association remain at odds over an economic plan for the 2020 regular season, trading public barbs along the way.
MLB has insisted that players take further pay cuts due to the likelihood of fans not being allowed to attend games this year. The union, meanwhile, has maintained it will not accept anything less than the full prorated salaries promised to players in a March 26 agreement.
To justify their stance, some team owners have claimed the sport isn’t as profitable as others may be inclined to believe.
