LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers pitcher Scott Baker was called up to pitch Sunday's series finale in San Diego, but his final start with Triple-A Oklahoma City was enough to capture Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week honors.
Baker came within one strike of a seven-inning perfect game last Monday in Iowa in the first game of a doubleheader, before Cubs infielder Addison Russell singled to break it up. Russell was promoted to the big leagues one day later.
Baker settled for a two-hit shutout with four strikeouts and no walks, and in three starts with Oklahoma City allowed only two runs with 17 innings, with 16 strikeouts and one walk.
